Christian Slater is in negotiations to star in ABC's new series "The Forgotten." "Forgotten," from producer Jerry Bruckheimer, is a mystery drama revolving around a group of amateur detectives led by a former cop (Slater). The 11-year-old daughter of Slater's character was kidnapped three years before the group was formed. Slater would replace British actor Rupert Penry-Jones, who played the lead in the pilot. Another role, that of a female member of the squad, is being recast. "Forgotten," set to launch Sept. 22, would mark Slater's second turn as a TV leading man after last year's short-lived NBC spy drama "My Own Worst Enemy.
